Know what to prepare before treatment.
The preparation sheets cover clutter, items under beds, vacuuming, laundry and bagging belongings. They also explain how to keep clean items separate and why you should discuss affected furniture with the technician.
The current English and Spanish sheets give different times for leaving the property. Call Evict to confirm the reentry time for your treatment, including when pets can return. Follow the instructions given for your visit.
Signs of bed bugs
- Bites in a line or cluster, often on skin that was uncovered while you slept.
- Small rust colored spots on sheets or the mattress.
- Dark specks along mattress seams, the box spring, the bed frame or the headboard.
- Shed skins or tiny pale eggs in seams and cracks.
- A sweet, musty smell in a room with heavy activity.
What bed bug treatment covers
- An inspection of the bed, the furniture around it and the places bed bugs hide.
- Treatment of the affected rooms.
- Preparation instructions in English or Spanish, so the treatment can reach where the bugs are.
- Guidance on which belongings to keep, bag or discuss with the technician before discarding.
Bed bugs are one of the harder pests to clear. Evict's pest guide notes that they often need follow up visits. Ask what the plan looks like for your home.
What affects the price
Evict looks at the property first and goes over pricing before any work starts. Evict's own pest guide lists what moves the price: the pest, how far the activity has spread, the treatment it calls for, how many visits it will take and the size of the property. For bed bugs that means how many rooms are affected and how many visits the plan needs.

Questions about this service
Are preparation sheets available in Spanish?
Yes. Both English and Spanish bed bug preparation PDFs are on the prep sheets page.
Should I use a fogger before the visit?
The existing bed bug sheets say not to self-treat with foggers or other over the counter pest products. Talk to Evict before using another treatment.
Should I throw out my mattress?
Not before talking to Evict. The preparation sheet asks you to discuss affected furniture with the technician first. Many items can be treated rather than replaced.
How long do I need to stay out?
The English sheet says four hours and the Spanish sheet says three. Call Evict to confirm the reentry time for your treatment, including for pets.
Can bed bugs come back?
They can if eggs survive or if they are brought in again. Follow the preparation steps closely and ask Evict about follow up visits.
